Envoy Air is American Airlines' largest wholly owned regional, headquartered in Irving, Texas, flying as American Eagle on an all dual-class Embraer E170/E175 fleet — growing to 214 aircraft by the end of 2027 after American awarded Envoy 33 more E175s in June 2025. For applicants, Envoy is the opposite of a Delta-style flash window: hiring is rolling, with a standing application live on envoyair.com (as of August 2026) and a published recruiting contact (envoy.talentacquisition@aa.com). Regional hiring is continuous because Envoy FAs steadily move on to mainline carriers — though not through any flow program (more on that below, because everyone asks).
Honest framing: this is a realistic first flight attendant job, not a destination paycheck. Entry pay is $29.73 per flight hour ("newly enhanced" per the careers page, checked August 2026), which works out to a first-year gross roughly in the low-to-mid $30,000s — versus roughly $45,000–60,000 first-year at Delta. What you get in exchange: a door that is actually open year-round, a $2,000 new-hire bonus, AAG-linked benefits including unlimited standby travel on American's network, and real interview-day experience at a carrier that hires continuously instead of once a year.
The single biggest Envoy differentiator — read this twice: ground school is unpaid. Envoy's own careers page says, verbatim: "All portions of ground school training are unpaid." Hotel and meals are provided, and the $2,000 bonus partially offsets it — but this is the inverse of the usual regional pitch (SkyWest, PSA, and Republic all pay training). No FA flow to American. Envoy's famous "flow to American with no additional interview" is a pilot program. There is no flight attendant flow-through to American — or any mainline — from Envoy or any American regional. Candidates and content mills conflate these constantly. What Envoy FA experience actually gives you is AAG familiarity and internal-posting visibility, nothing contractual.
Baseline requirements: prep-site consensus says at least 21 at time of application, but Envoy's careers page did not display an age line when checked in August 2026 — verify against the live posting (note the contrast: sibling AA regionals PSA and Republic hire at 20). You need a valid passport with the right to travel unrestricted to all countries Envoy serves (US, Canada, Mexico, Caribbean, South America), US work authorization, and English fluency (bilingual Spanish is valued for MIA/Latin America flying per prep sites, but no formal bilingual pay program was found — don't expect one). Education requirements are not clearly published — prep sites imply a high-school diploma/GED baseline with customer-service experience valued, but Envoy does not publish this; check the posting.

Key point: The FAA sterile flight deck rule restricts crew-to-cockpit communication to safety-of-flight items only during taxi, takeoff, landing, and below 10,000 ft — during those phases I only call forward for genuine safety issues.
4. Who is Envoy Air and how do you fit into American Airlines?
Key point: Envoy is a wholly-owned AAG subsidiary flying as American Eagle out of Irving, TX under CEO Pedro Fábregas; FAs are Envoy employees delivering American's product on Envoy aircraft.
5. Walk me through Envoy's flight attendant hiring process from application to training class.
Key point: Rolling online application → phone screen → in-person Dallas interview day (group-of-five interview, no games/activities; separate one-on-one not guaranteed) → conditional offer → post-CJO reach test, fingerprinting, drug screen, background check → training class at the Envoy Flight Academy in Irving.
