Breeze Airways

Flight attendant interview intel — hiring windows, bases, pay and reserve reality, training, culture, and the interview process. Know the airline inside and out before you walk in.

Big-picture snapshot

Breeze Airways is David Neeleman's startup carrier (launched 2021), headquartered in the Salt Lake City area and built around the Airbus A220 with a "Nice Low Cost Carrier" brand. It is a small operation by FA standards — roughly 600+ flight attendants across about a dozen bases — expanding into international leisure routes, including the Raleigh-Durham base announced in September 2025.

Hiring-window status (as of August 2026): OPEN, rolling. Breeze does not run national hiring waves. It posts base-specific requisitions continuously, and when checked in August 2026 there were 13 live Flight Attendant requisitions on its Greenhouse board, across cities including Fort Myers, Norfolk, Las Vegas, Charleston SC, Orlando, Fort Lauderdale, and Hartford (Windsor Locks CT). Which bases are open changes constantly — pull the board yourself before applying.

The single most important structural fact, and the one forums most often get wrong: Breeze FAs are unionized but have no contract yet. Flight attendants voted 76.3% to join AFA-CWA, certified by the National Mediation Board on May 7, 2024, and first-contract negotiations were still in progress as of the latest sourcing. "Breeze is non-union" has been false since May 2024; "Breeze FAs have a union contract" is also false. Unionized-without-a-contract is the accurate frame — and it means current pay and work rules can still change at management's discretion until a contract lands.

Baseline requirements per posting-language compilations (updated December 2024 — verify verbatim against the live Greenhouse posting for your target base): 21 or older, high-school diploma or equivalent, U.S. citizenship or legal right to work, valid passport before training. No prior-experience requirement appears in posting language — customer-service background helps but is not a stated gate. Vision and hearing tests, a DOT pre-employment drug test, and a TSA fingerprint-based background check apply.
